Our new Professor

It was great news to learn recently that Paul Warren will be promoted to Professor of Linguistics from 1 January 2017.

This is very welcome recognition of the leadership Paul shows in his discipline and in this University – he has, for example, served as both Head of School and also Associate Dean, and his recent book on uptalk attracted a fair bit of attention.

He’s also very well-known for his teaching across a range of undergraduate and Honours courses in the Linguistics programme, with a particular interest in psycholinguistics. This year he was also involved in developing a special topic on forensic linguistics.

There’s lots more we could say about Paul, but for now suffice to say … congratulations!
