We’re delighted to welcome Professor Jack C. Richards as an adjunct professor to the School. The appointment was marked last Friday when Jack delivered a talk on teachers’ linguistic proficiency to a packed lecture hall.
Jack has had a long association with the School of Linguistics and Applied Language Studies, and was involved with the English Language Institute early in his career.
That career has seen Jack recognised as one of the leading international experts in TESOL and applied linguistics, with an impressive list of publications, including some of the best-known ELT course books.
Victoria University of Wellington recognised Jack’s achievements in 2011 when he was awarded an honorary doctorate, and in the same year he was the School’s Ian A. Gordon Fellow.
It is great to have him associated with the School again in this new role.
